I’m Matt Fleekop
husband, father & coach
In 2023, my wife gave birth to our baby girl, Laila. We officially joined the majority of our peers in the “parent club.” It didn’t take long to recognize that so many parents feel like they need to make sacrifices in the their career, spending time with family, or in their fitness to achieve success in another area. Me being the “workout guy,” people would insist that our current fitness level was a thing of the past and the “dad-bod” was coming for me.
The more people cautioned me about the sacrifices fatherhood would bring to my fitness, my goals, and my lifestyle, the more I recognized the need to redefine what it means to be a parent today. As parents, we play a pivotal role not only in our own lives, but also in those of our significant other and our children. If we aren’t taking care of ourselves, if we aren’t continuing to grow and evolve, how can we be the parent and partner that we strive to be?
The Mission
I'm here to redefine what it means to be a parent in today's world. We aren't just providers and protectors; we are leaders, teachers, helpers, and encouragers. We are the cornerstone of a thriving family unit.
One similarity of being a parent and a marathon runner? The word Endurance. Endurance signifies the ability to stand strong in the face of adversity, to persist in the pursuit of difficult goals, and to navigate the inevitable ups and downs that come your way.
This is where the term DAD ENDURANCE was born.
Let’s create a world where parents are empowered to be strong and resilient. To embrace our roles with confidence, vigor, and unwavering compassion. It's about enabling all of us to operate at our fullest potential, both in our family and personal lives.
